“A Book is a Dream You Hold In Your Hands”

Neil Gaiman created this quote, and I think it’s true. So many things go into writing a story. Over the last few months, several of my fellow writer friends and I came together and have worked diligently to write one book containing several short stories. This book eventually became Once Upon a Story: A Short Fiction Anthology, published TODAY on Amazon! This anthology also includes my recently published short stories, Luca and Monster. Working together with these writers on this anthology has been both a pleasure and a privilege and I can honestly say it’s a dream come true. Creating this anthology is kind of like a recipe: Begin with an…

I’m so excited to announce that my short story, “Luca” has been published today! You can download a free copy on Amazon by clicking the link at the bottom of this page. Luca is an antagonist in my upcoming Novel, Buried Secrets. He is only one of several characters who may or may not have had something to do with a particular mystery in the novel. What could happen on a breezy summer day, where the birds are singing, and the grass…

The Power of Connection – Writers need it!

By Krissy Baccaro One of the most important things you can do in life is to connect with others. Families need connection, communities need it, schools need it and WRITERS need it. Connecting with others, provides us an opportunity to build and strengthen our relationships as well as building trust by supporting each other. We feel inspired, valued and grateful when we connect with other people as we work together towards something important. We are far more successful working together than working alone. I am learning about the value of connecting with other writers through an online course I’m currently taking, called “Write to Publish” (visit: www.thewritepractice.com for more information).…

Buried Secrets: Where the mystery begins

Buried Secrets begins at the tail end of summer in upstate New York in the quaint little town of Skaneateles. Just a short drive down West Lake Street sits a cozy cottage squarely on the lake. The cottage belongs to Ella’s grandparents and is not far from the famous Sherwood Inn, the Blue Water Grill where Ella used to work and St. James’ Episcopal Church, where she would have gotten married.  Her grandparents built this cottage on the lake, because of all the Finger Lakes, it was the cleanest and prettiest, making it the perfect place to raise a family. They admired the beautiful tree-lined streets, a mixture of mature leafy…

    Writing News

I’m excited to share that I’ve been working on my latest short story, “Luca”. Luca is the antagonist in my novel, Buried Secrets and he is a deeply troubled man with a secret he’s been keeping for decades. Up until recently, no one knew about this secret. Hidden notes are discovered, and a series of clues are revealed following the death of Luca’s brother, resulting in one determined character, intent on peeling away all the layers until a truth is finally exposed.  When I thought about how to describe Luca, I wanted readers to understand where he came from. What experiences came together to build this man and make him…
